Super Battle Golf: Game Modes & Settings

Last updated: February 2026

Super Battle Golf offers flexible ways to play, from chaotic 8-player online matches to solo practice sessions. This guide covers all modes and the best custom settings for different situations.

Game Modes

🌐 Online Multiplayer (1-8 Players)

The core experience. Join public lobbies or create private matches with friends.

  • Public Servers: Join random players from around the world
  • Private Servers: Invite-only matches with friends
  • Voice Chat: Built-in voice communication
  • Spectate Mode: Watch matches without participating

💡 Filter lobbies by ping (under 100 recommended) for the best experience.

🎯 Solo Play (Point-Based)

Practice alone with a point-based scoring system.

  • Great for learning maps and routes
  • Practice swing angles and power control
  • No pressure from other players
  • Points based on stroke count and completion time

⚠️ For the "Coolheaded" achievement, you must complete every hole - timing out invalidates the run!

👀 Spectator Mode

Watch ongoing matches without participating.

  • Click "Spectate" instead of "Join" in the lobby browser
  • Great for learning from experienced players
  • Required for the "Couch Potato" achievement
  • Can spectate friends' private matches if invited

Server Options

Option Description
Public Server Anyone can join from the lobby browser
Private Server Invite-only, friends must be invited through Steam
Voice Chat Enable/disable in-game voice communication
Max Players Set player limit (2-8)

Fun Party Rules (House Rules)

Try these custom rules with friends for extra fun:

🍺 "Drinking Game"

Take a sip when: you get knocked out, fall in water, or finish last on a hole.

⚠️ Please drink responsibly!

🤝 "Pacifist Challenge"

No using items or attacking. Pure golf skills only. First to break the rule loses.

🎭 "Role Swap"

One player is the "hunter" who can only attack. Others can only golf. Rotate each hole.

🚗 "Cart Only"

Everyone must stay in golf carts. Walking is forbidden!

Performance Settings

For smooth gameplay, especially with 8 players:

  • Resolution: 1080p is usually enough
  • Frame Rate: Cap at 60 FPS for stability
  • Effects Quality: Medium (explosions can cause lag on low-end PCs)
  • V-Sync: On if you see screen tearing
💡 Streaming Tip: If streaming, lower effects quality slightly to maintain stable frame rates during chaotic moments with multiple explosions.
